My Belief
“Mother and Child is a phenomenon that I have been exploring, painting and depicting in its various moods through different series.”
Currently I’m working on a slum community in Choma Village, Gurgaon. Through my artwork I try to depict their unimaginable life in ‘Real,’
representing their expectations, reality, happiness, and love (the purest form of love that can be seen and felt).
My paintings capture the bond and the love they share in spite of the hardship of slum life.
My work process includes detailed research and documentation on a couple of families from Choma Village. On the basis of this research, I strive to depict my learning of their life on a two dimensional surface representing their struggle, vision, happiness and hardship which sums up to be the “Essence of their Life.”

About
Practicing art, especially painting has been an integral part of Tanisha Bakshi’s life, as long as she recalls. Having won several prizes in schooltime for exceptional fine art skills, Tanisha was crystal clear about taking up art as her career, even when she scored a 97 percent in her high school and everyone around thought this scholar was going to pursue commerce, the topper decided to paint her own rainbow road to art.
Tanisha has explored the myriad colors of art on her own until she took up formal training in 2014 and is now a full time artist who operates from her studio in Gurgaon for the last seven years. Her creations primarily focus on the most beautiful of all emotions, a mother’s love. Captured in it’s many forms, a mother’s love is universal and for her it is the biggest inspiration and an unparalleled driving force.
