Artist Statement
The Essence of Life
My work is rooted in the Slums of India — not in their squalor or despair, but in the extraordinary resilience, community, and joy that flourish within them. I transform worn, found objects — blankets, clothing, everyday things — into two and three-dimensional surfaces where every scratch and frayed edge carries its own hidden history.
My biggest inspiration is maternal love — the “bond of hearts” — and the silent gratitude of people who find happiness despite fragile economic realities. Through the Essence of Life series, I ask the viewer not to pity, but to witness and celebrate the unshakable human spirit.
