Her journey

Art has always been part of her life

Practising art, especially painting, has been an integral part of Tanisha Bakshi's life for as long as she recalls. She won several prizes in school for her fine art skills and remained clear about choosing art as her career, even after scoring 97 percent in high school.

Tanisha explored the many colours of art independently before beginning formal training in 2014. She developed her practice from her studio in Gurgaon, creating works that focus primarily on the many forms of a mother's love.

For her, maternal love is universal: an inspiration, a subject of study and a force that connects communities despite difficult circumstances.
